The Festival of Gurú Poornima (the
Full Moon of the Gurú ) is one of the most important celebrations of the
Hindu Culture. It is the day in which one surrenders cultured special to the
Acharya (Masterful; "those that practice what they preach"), that
through their Infinite Compassion and the Supreme Grace has distributed the
Knowledge of the Absolute one (Brahma Vidya) to all finder of if same, like way
to obtain the union with God.
In order to include/understand the
importance of this day truely favorable, is due first to understand the meaning
of "Guru '" (Masterful Spiritual). The syllable "Gu" means:
"the dark"; and "ru": "one that it dissipates, that
destroys". Soon the Gurú word means: "One that dissipates or destroys
the dark"..
Gurú (Masterful
Spiritual) is That one that dissipates or destroys the dark of the ignorance
blessing to its disciples (Bhakta) with the true knowledge, the Knowledge of
God.
The Sagradas Hindu Scriptures agrees in the
indispensable thing of Spiritual Gui'a, since the being (jiva) cannot obtain
the elucidation by itself, without the guide of a Gurú.
Express God in the Scriptures that nobody
can obtain it to HIM without surrendering first a a Gurú, declaring that IT
does not give to his knowledge and love directly, but that does through a Gurú.
The human being is very difficult, still
journeying the footpath of the spiritual way, to love the abstract thing.
Therefore the Scriptures advise to venerate to which they take it until God;
loving its physical presence as Divine manifestation of HIM in human form.
Thus, when God assumes a human form, IT settles down itself like the Gurú. The
Gurú is showed God, becoming in the Light, Inspiration and Example of its
disciples. The Gurú and God are One, because the Omnipotente and Its Means of
Manifestation cannot be different. The Gurú incarnates the aspects Nirguna (God
without attributes) and Saguna (God with attributes) of the Supreme Being
(guna: qualities of the nature). Two are the conditions that must fulfill a
Guru ': 1° To be expert in all Scriptures. 2. To have obtained the union with
God. The first condition only can be reunited by which it has fulfilled the
second condition, since to which it has obtained the accomplishment in God
grants the perfect knowledge automatically to him. This way the words of the
Gurú distribute knowledge (Jñana) and dissipate the ignorance causing the
gradual separation of the material world and the permanent union with God; by
means of waking up of the conscience, the transformation and elevation same
beyond the physicist of the spiritual finder; whose exclusive work is to
include/understand its true identity with God.
The Bhagavadgita also sets the standards
about that are a genuine Gurú, saying that he is That one that distributes true
free knowledge of speculation and it never alleges that It is God. He knows
that God is Supreme and the men are subordinated HIM He knows the Truth and
lives in her, is free of greed, lujuria and rage. It is example of love,
wisdom, peace, automatic control, austerity, mercy, tolerance and fort faith in
God. He must come through one long and continuous succession of Acharya (Guru
Parampara).
At the moment of initiation (Deeksha), the
Gurú absorbs the sins last and karmas of its disciples and reveals the true
spiritual knowledge to them. The disciple develops strong love by the Gurú that
releases of the slavery of birth and death to it. There are eight types of Guru
':
1: Bodha Guru ': the Shastra teaches and
encourages to the student to act in agreement with its orders.
2: Guru Prohibition ': it distributes the
internal meaning of the Prohibition, establishes to the disciple in the
spiritual truths and
it guides his mind towards God.
3: Nishidha Gurú:`imparte the knowledge of
the rituals and duties and teaches how it is possible to be assured
well-being now and for always.
4: Kamya Guru ': it guides the student so
that it carries out commendable acts that assure the happiness to him in both
worlds.
5: Vachaka Gurú distributes the knowledge
of yoga and prepares to the disciple for the spiritual life.
6: Suchaka Guru ': it teaches how the
senses by means of different types from disciplines are controlled.
7: Karana Guru ': it reveals the unit of
the Jivi (individual) with the Atma.
8: Vihita Guru ': it clarifies all the
doubts, it purifies the mind and it shows how the autorrealización can be
obtained.
Most important it is the Karana Gurú, that
through many lessons and practices helps the individual to progress of the
human conscience to the Divine Conscience. Single the Divinity can act so like
a teacher. Only through the purification of the mind the Supreme Being can be
made.
In India he considers himself to the Moon
(Chandra) as Deity runs of the mind and to the Sun of the intellect.
In the Hindu Calendar four days of Full
Moon exist that are more sacred than the others; the Full Moon
that one appears in the months of Vaisaka,
Ashada, Sravana and Magha.
When the moon is full (poornima) is
illuminated by the rays that receive from the sun; the mind is, that night, in
a while propitious to obtain by means of the culture of the internal vision
through the light of the Love, the Wisdom and Spiritual Illumination.
In this day of celebration the disciples
make orations or plegarias of offering (Pooja) to the Gurú, praying with the
following Plegaria : "Oh Gurú, You are Father, Mother, Brother, Friend,
Knowledge and Prosperity. You are for me Everything and God of all the Gods
".
This day of gratefulness extends to all the
Gurú, but in special to the Fundamental Gurú , first of the Acharya: Sri
Vyasa Prohibition , Vyasa Maharishi (Great Rishi<Sabio >) to that
they are offered special bids up (= pooja: puya)/(offerings). Sri Vyasa
revealed that the principle of Brahma interpenetrates and maintains reunited to
the multiplicity within the One Sri Vyasa was the highest authority than
analyzed and classified the Prohibition (Sagradas Scriptures), for whose
interpretation the Brahmasutra wrote, which were explained as well through the
writing of the eighteen Puranas. At the end of all this, Sri Vyasa wrote the
Harivamsha, the History of Mr. Krishna. The History of the Mahabharata had been
written by him just a short time before, being the ocean of deep knowledge, to
that also the flame the Fifth Prohibition. The Bhagavadgita, which is honest
anywhere in the world as book of wisdom and jewel of rectitud (Dharma),
comprises of the Mahabarata. This way It left a rich legacy of nonsingle
sapiencia to his country but to the entire world.
It is known that Sri Vyasa, this considered

Full Moon, finished codifying the Sacred texts a day of Full Moon and also
completed the writing of the Purana in day of Full Moon. It is in its honor and
so that the humanity can offer the gratitude to him that is deserved, that
restored during this day of Full Moon the day of the Gurú.
Its vast work was to codify the
Prohibition (El Saber) in four parts (1131 Sakhas < reviewed text >
